The History of BIMOCOHT

A critical examination of our educational standard in the various institutions of learning in Nigeria today would reveal a situation in which some students do not fully understand their expected roles, duties, obligations and goals.

Therefore, there is a need for a holistic approach to educational development that promotes excellence while providing a fair, safe and supportive environment for studies and social life.

It was against this background that the visionary leader, Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Odom, deemed it necessary to establish the first Catholic-owned College of Health Technology in Ebonyi State.

BIMOCOHT is an acronym for Bishop Michael Okoro College of Health Technology. The College is located in Ndubia-Igbeagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and was established in 2019.

The institution was established under the auspices of Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Odom, then Parish Priest of St. John the Baptist Parish, Ndubia and administrator of St. Vincent's Hospital, Ndubia.

The College academic activities for the 2020/2021 academic session commenced in October 2020 with the solemn blessing of the College by the Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese.

BIMOCOHT now stands as the College of Health Technology belonging to Abakaliki Diocese, with the objective of contributing to the development of competent healthcare manpower and helping to reduce quackery in healthcare delivery, especially in rural communities.
